It's in your stats, eg Blade 5D+2 gives you 5 dice.

WhiteValyrian:no we lose a die for every attack so the 5th attack would be 1D rather than 5D
Simon N. (GM):Saya has Parry 19 with a shield so if attacking her clone could roll one attack at 5d6 needing 19 to hit, or two with 4d6 both needing 19 to hit, or three with 3d6, etc.
or four with 2d6 or five with 1d6

Is it better to split up attacks in your experience, or just blow all the dice on one?
Simon N. (GM):Against unskilled opponents multiple attacks may be more effective

So you only have a finite number of times to succeed on a skill check, equal to the dice?
Simon N. (GM):Yup, so roll 2d6 for any wit skills

But there wouldn't be a situation in which you'd split the dice, llike in combat?
Simon N. (GM):Skills work much like D&D, some might allow for retries
Generally only if doing several things at once

The FIRST die rolled in each roll is the designated Wild Die; on a 6 roll it again and add to total (keep rolling until it does not roll 6).

Simon N. (GM):It's evening on the second day when they finally see ahead the sprawling, ruined expanse of the Silver Princess' palace, now half-enfolded by the ice of the Tjokren Glacier.
Jelly:(could we have a brief character intro from everyone please? Looks and personality)
Rich W.:Ulfdin mutters and starts giggling to himself
Simon N. (GM):Around them the valley is dead and silent; grey moss clinging to the stumps of long-dead trees.
Yup you can intro your PCs.
Rich W.:Uldin is a bald, fairly tall and covered in taoos. he has a long braided beard. Talks and mutters to himself. (Think Floki from Vikings)

Has 4 javelins on his back
WhiteValyrian:Laxus Draugnir is an Elf with blonde hair and blue eyes, strange for elves he is more rugged and muscular different from the usual slender elf. Equipped with Scale armour there is a longsword on his hip and a bow and shield on his back. (there is a picture in the forum)
Jelly:Saya: looks much like the portrait picture, but in flowing white robes. Her dark eyed, predatory stare is as sharp and disconcerting as the exotic sword on her back. She always seems to be on her guard and generally speaks only when spoken to.
Simon N. (GM):The entrance way is a great gateway at the base of the cliffs. A massive and foreboding double portcullis once blocked the entryway to a 30’ wide corridor, but now is raised 4' off the ground by two rough cut timbers. A breeze is gently blowing from the palace corridor, and it carries with it the dust of decayed stone and the smell of decaying bodies. Occasionally sounds of pain, fright, and hunger can be heard, but they are far away and sometimes muffled, so that all that may be heard is a short piercing scream and then total silence.
@Matt - Rolo has gone for an evening stroll for some fresh air while his companions rest with their new Beastman friends in the dining hall of the lower palace. Now, looking out over the valley as the evening sun sinks golden in the north-west over the far side of the valley, he sees three figures making their way doggedly across the bleak tundra towards the entrance, now only a couple hundred yards off...

And Saya starts to make her way toward the tunnel.

Simon N. (GM):GM: Saya ducks under the outer portcullis, followed by Uldin. Once inside the eerie screams are heard no more.

Simon N. (GM):The faint stench of decay still lingers though, and the marbled walls are weathered and broken.
MooWun:sorry about the smell. The cleaners are on furlough
Simon N. (GM):GM: @Rollo you came out of (5) the dining hall via the tunnel up to 1(a), the open western portcullis. The eastern pair remain shut tight. The beastmen have laid planks over the pits.
MooWun:"Want me to show you around?"
Simon N. (GM):You reach 1a & 1b on the map. the eastern portculli: "There are two passageways here blocked by a double portcullis. One of the passages leads south, the other east. Beyond 15’, down either passage, vision is impaired and nothing but blackness can be seen (this applies to the other passage as well). The south passage way seems to be drier than the east one. The eastern passageway has a hint of moisture in the air and dampness can be felt on the wall just inside the portcullis."

Simon N. (GM):Rollo lights a torch - he can see now how the south tunnel turns right after 30'. The eastern (wet) tunnel runs only 10' east to stone stairs that descend out of sight.

Torches flicker and sputter as if they are not getting enough oxygen to burn. The air feels heavy and hard to breathe. A sweet smell fills the room and gets stronger as time passe

Simon N. (GM):GM You head south down the corridor to the intersection, Ulfdin carrying his prize, as behind you the corridor fills with sleep gas. At the intersection you see the west tunnel slopes up steeply while to the east marble steps descend into chilly darkness.
The temperature here is only just above freezing.

Simon N. (GM):The door slides down the steps 30' and across a 10' landing into a rough cavern. where a rather large grey stone pool of water almost covers the entire floor. Occasionally bubbles rise to the surface of the water, but apart from that the water is quiet. A small ledge circles the south end of the pool. This ledge is wide enough for one fully armored person to inch around the pool to the other side where a cave opening can be seen in the south wall. The door has come to rest just before the pool.

Two shapely young swords-women in skimpy mail are standing in the cave talking - Rollo recognises Candella & Duchess! "Damn those Bubble things! What do you think they were, Duchess?" Simon N. (GM):(I gave you a bonus CP for the door Rich) Increasing a skill 1 pip costs # of CP equal to its Dice
So if Blade is 5D+2 that costs 5 CP to raise to 6D
If you have an Attribute of 2D then all skills cost base 2 CP to raise
Max +1 pip per session

You can either grow laterally fast or vertically slowly

Simon N. (GM):@Matt I decided to award +1 HP end of each session (of decent play) whether or not PC had any left.
Stamina 3D to 3D+1 costs 3 CP yup :)
