SP#14 10-12/1/2215 AR Fall of Saya - 2/4 CP

10/1: Camp out in crone's hut.
11/1: After midnight a Night Thing attacks, plucking Laxus through a window. It seems immune to weapons. Laxus is wounded, but drives it off with the Light of Mithra. Saya chases it into the dark forest, and is found dead by Rollo. Rollo brings back her body; Ulfdin sees it when he wakes at dawn. Heroes build a funeral pyre for Saya from the crone's hut, and give her a viking funeral. Ulfdin chases & thumps villagers. Laxus & Aliegha retire to the inn, while Ulfdin & Rollo guard the pyre.
After nightfall a second Night Thing attacks, but is destroyed by Ulfdin.
12/1: As dawn breaks, the ashes of Saya's funeral pyre burn low.

Simon N. (GM):GM: You demolish the crone's hut, building a massive funeral pyre.
Ulfdin:Ulfdin is cutting trees down and singing a funeral dirge
Simon N. (GM):Ulfdin cuts down nearby trees, they are too green to burn well.
Rollo:prepare her body, to look magnificent. then sit vigil.
Ulfdin:Lo there do I see my father; Lo there do I see my mother and my sisters and my brothers; Lo there do I see the line of my people, back to the beginning. Lo, they do call to me, they bid me take my place among them, in the halls of Valhalla, where the brave may live forever.
Simon N. (GM):Saya still makes an attractive corpse, the two deep piercings in her body are easy to cover.
Laxus Draugnir:"plz Rollo and Ulfdin you cantear down this abandoned hut but leave the forresters hut alone Saya wouldnt want her funeral to affect people of their livelihood"
Rollo:Rollo hugs Ulfdin
Ulfdin:Uldin stands vigl with Rollo
Saya:I'm sure Saya would have wanted one of you to take her sword and carry on the fight. Her spirit will be within it, to protect you.
Rollo:tears are shed
Simon N. (GM):The sun is lowering again by the time all is ready.
Ulfdin:Uldin lights the pyre and hands the torch to Rollo
Rollo:cast the brand onto the pyr

Ulfdin:Ulfdin stands and watches the flames while chanting to the gods
Simon N. (GM):The cowardly villagers are hiding again, weapons ready in case Ulfdin comes to bash them again. Ulfdin lights the pyre., the dry wood and debris of the hut catches easily, flames shooting up into the dusk sky.
Laxus Draugnir:"May the nine guard your journey to the afterlife Saya"
Simon N. (GM):The flames enclose the young warrior of Dawnspire, carrying her soul to its final reward.
Laxus Draugnir:"Rollo and Ulfdin lets stay at the tavern for the night"
Ulfdin:Ulfdin slices his palm and takes the ashes. Mixes them with his blood and smears it over his face and head.
"I'm staying out here"
Rollo:Aye
Laxus Draugnir:....sigh..... "but stay close to the funeral pyre hopefully the light will ward off all the night things"
Rollo:eventually Rollo will fall asleep in the smoke of the cooling embers
Ulfdin:Ulfdin stays awake chanting
Simon N. (GM):GM: So Rollo & Ulfdin stay overnight by the pyre while Laxus seeks shelter at the tavern.
Laxus Draugnir went to the tavern and rest there with Aliegha and his cat
Laxus Draugnir:(yup)
Rollo:i will take Saya's blade back to her people
Simon N. (GM):It's just after dark but the innkeeper reluctantly lets Laxus Aliegha & the cat inside.

Simon N. (GM):It's only an hour or so after nightfall when Ulfdin sees an elongated silent form at the treeline. Rollo is dozing.

also great swimmer, can hold breath for an hour.
Take the Sorcerer perks (3 skill dice) to use spells, put 2 of your 3 remaining skill dice on Magic skill, choose 4 spells.

Simon N. (GM):There are no levels, but yes you start with 12 D for attributes and 7D for skills and perks (inc reptoid 1 and sorcerer 3, so 3D skills left)

Simon N. (GM):Yes, between 1D and 4D per Attribute. You'll want high Wit (4D) for Magic plus 2D Magic skill gives 6D starting Magic
Saya:Ok I'll write that down. Where can I find more info about the Druid class and what should I pick for my narrative, if any? There's only a very small section on druids in the campaign setting.

There are no classes in Mini Six. You'd be a lizardman shaman/nature priest. Look at Thule book re Narratives, eg Guardian of the Nine would work.
Star Lore Adept if you're a crazy Cthulu worshipping Lizardman :)
Saya:I think Guardian of the Nine prob more apt if I do pick a narrative, but not compulsory I suppose?

The spells are in the Mini Six rulebook I gave you. :)
NB Healing is good :D
As you'll start with max 6D Magic you'll want mostly spells with a target number of 21 or lower as you roll your Magic vs TN to cast.

How many spells am I allowed?
Simon N. (GM):eg Light is TN 15, Heal TN is 15 to 23
2 spells per die allocated to Magic skill, Max is 2 dice so 4 spells
Raising the dead via Resurrection spell is TN 60 which needs a maxed out caster plus a bunch of Hero Points for a chance to succeed...
Saya:Well hopefully won't be needing that too soon!
It's been an intense, emotive game today! Sad to see Saya go but looking forward to my new character.
