Silver Princess #8 afternoon 5/1/2215 - My Lady's Heart - 7 CP

Rollo:Ballroom?
Saya:I was saying earlier I think it would be good to explore that gardens.
Rollo:Lead on Sword Saint!
Ulfdin:Goooo!
Rollo:Rollo hefts his mighty weapon and grins in admiration at his hero
Simon N. (GM):You've just been having lunch with Aliegha in the temple after reporting to Cathrandamus. You can go through doors opposite to the ballroom or south to gardens?
Saya:I vote south to the gardens
Ulfdin:Im happy with South
Simon N. (GM):Aliegha: "For the gardens, it's best to approach from the east tunnel - the Ubues keep watch on the west tunnel."
Saya:Ok. Let's go carefully then.
Rollo:Let me lead, my danger sense has sharpened
Saya:Ok, Rollo ahead, Ulfdin will you guard the rear?
Simon N. (GM):GM: You head out and south, Aliegha & Rollo in front, her three barbarians bringing up the rear.
Rollo:Rollo stalks forward carefully
Ulfdin:I'm at the back
Simon N. (GM):Aliegha leads you east and south. Daylight filters in through high windows in the long corridor ahead (bottom of map).
At the T-junction you head cautiously west.

Rollo:Its quiet...too quiet
Simon N. (GM):Ahead you see double doors to the right - into the throne - and just past those, sunlight filtering in to the left through ancient gates. Suddenly out of the gloom ahead emerge strange creatures...
Ulfdin:SHIELD WALL!!
Simon N. (GM):Big, three headed, hideous Beastmen - Ubues!
Rollo:Rollo looks around for the shield he doesn't have. Curses!
Saya:My faith in my sword is shield enough for me!
Simon N. (GM):They must have been alerted earlier to your approach.

Rollo:tssk

Simon N. (GM):Aliegha: "Listen to Saya, Ubue! We only need to search the rooms around here. Tell your people to take their wounded and leave us alone!"
Saya:I'm sure this is the first time they have actually had a conversation, rather than just hacking eachother to bits!
Simon N. (GM):The 3 other barbarians look like they agree with Ulfdin, but won't defy Aliegha.
The Ubue looks fearful and nods. "Me tell 'em!"
Saya:Make sure you do! And keep an eye out for that red stone.
Rollo:why dont we ask the tribe?
Simon N. (GM):It nods. Getting to its three feet it scrambles off west down the tunnel.
Rollo:one of them must know something
Saya:Well we've got free rein to explore now without being attacked, so it's a good idea.
Simon N. (GM):Aliegha: "If they have it, they won't give it up." She turns to the three barbarians: "Keep an eye on our rear, in case they want a rematch!"
Rollo:lead on McSaya
Simon N. (GM):GM: You now have a clear path to the throneroom or garden. Looking through garden gates you see stairs down, it's very overgrown - https://i.somethingawful.com/u/elpintogrande/september10/silverprincess/silverprincess_12.gif
"This garden is overgrown with weeds. The paths
have disappeared into the underbrush, and the
only statue is now completely grown over with
thick purplish vines. Water can be heard, but not

Ulfdin:Should have gone to the thron e room

Rollo:lets have a ood old bonfire

Simon N. (GM):LOL
Rollo:where would you like to explore next? Roll flashes his best and most insincere grin :-D
Simon N. (GM):Aliegha goes over to the throneroom doors and throws them open...
Rollo:thats the spirit
Simon N. (GM):Across from the double doors of this huge room
stands a massive, hand carved wooden throne
upon a dais. Two statues of warriors, one to either
side of the throne, stand as silent guardians. In the
center of the room are two huge columns. There
are fire places on both the east and the west wall.
Simon N. (GM):Tapestries hang on the north wall. They record
scenes of pomp and procession, royal galas and
feasts once held in great halls. In the southeast
and southwest corners are two more statues,
duplicates of the ones guarding the throne.
Rollo:impressive
Saya:Be careful! We've come across dangerous statues before!
Ulfdin:Hmmm Statues.........

Simon N. (GM):The tapestries depict the elven nobility of the Silver Valley - now the Valley of Scorn. There is a depiction of a battle where many elves fall battling Beastmen, and a young girl - Argenta - becomes Queen.
Rollo:The Elf Wars, hmm
Simon N. (GM):There are some bloodstains on the floor. Aliegha: "When we were here before, Ubues followed us in - we killed several and fell back."
Rollo:indeed
Simon N. (GM):No obvious dangers.

Saya:obvious being the word!
I will very cautiously go to examine one of the statues.
Ulfdin:Ulfdin walks in
Not so cautiously......
Simon N. (GM):To the right of the throne is a tapestry depicting happy dwarf slaves presenting Argenta with a massive ruby.
The statue is of a stern glaive armed elf warrior in chain cuirass.
The tapestries reach from near ceiling to floor.
Ulfdin:Glaive y'say
Rollo:This is nonsense the dwarves i know would never be happy as slaves to elves. Unless they were sex slaves of course.
Simon N. (GM):Aliegha: "The elves are very handsome..."
Saya:Saya agrees!
Simon N. (GM)::D
Ulfdin:Its a picture, woman!
Rollo:and dwarves like a good looking queen
dont they Ulfdin?
Ulfdin:Hahahahahahahaha
Saya:I'll go and explore the throne next.
Rollo:blimey i'd be her slave
Simon N. (GM):The throne is of a dark wood, likely from beyond the northern mountains, finely carved.
Rollo:this is nimothan oak
Ulfdin:Aye
Rollo:Rollo sits in the throne , one le cocked over the side
*leg
Saya:I'll try to examine the throne for any secret catches or drawers.
Simon N. (GM):The throne is a little small for Rollo's bulky frame.
OK Saya roll Perception

Simon N. (GM):Aliegha's men ready their battle axes, but the Ubues don't enter - you hear the sound of them lifting their fallen.
Rollo:hes right
Ulfdin:SHIELD WALL
Simon N. (GM):Aliegha: "Hold! They're recovering their wounded!"
Rollo:looks disconsolate
Ulfdin:To heal them and come back and kill us!!
Saya:Saya lets out a deep sigh.
Simon N. (GM):Aliegha looks unsure - she looks to Saya.
Ulfdin:When they chop your legs off dont come running to me!
Saya:If they come back to kill us my blade will have something to say, but until then we have to assume they will keep their word.
Ulfdin:Still should have killed them.....
Rollo:The Blade Speakers words ring true brother
Lets ask them if they have seen this maical gem we have been searching for
Ulfdin:Im not talking to a three headed thing!
Simon N. (GM):oh btw you can spend an HP to get a clue or lucky break :)
Rollo:me neither, wouldn't get a word in
Ulfdin:Exactly especially if one was a female!
Rollo:I have one left. I'll do it DM
Simon N. (GM):ok an errant breeze stirs the tapestry to right of the throne, Rollo glimpses something odd about the wall behind it...
Rollo:whats that?
Simon N. (GM):The Ubues are carrying off their wounded.
Rollo:behind the wall hanging there?
Ulfdin:Whats what Rollo
Rollo:After all the yonder wall...
Ulfdin:Go over and have a look
Rollo:and after all, the yonder wall!
Simon N. (GM):The tapestry looks quite normal.
Ulfdin:Behind the tapestry
Saya:Something on the wall behind it though?
Rollo:aye and after all Yonder Wall
perhaps there is an oasis behind?
Simon N. (GM):To the right of the throne is a tapestry depicting happy dwarf slaves presenting Argenta with a massive ruby.
Ulfdin:Fnar fnar
Rollo:isnt that what we are looking for?
Simon N. (GM):>>Ulfdin:Behind the tapestry<< Is Ulfdin lifting the tapestry to look behind it?
Ulfdin:Yes
Simon N. (GM):He sees the door concealed behind the tapestry.
Rollo:rp it down man
Ulfdin:Rip it down
This door is called Dave
Simon N. (GM):ok roll Brawling Ulfdin

Rollo:ask Dave
Simon N. (GM):You see clearly now the white-washed outlines of the door, with a fairly obvious latch.
Ulfdin:Open it
Rollo:whats inside?

A single pedestal with a glass case on top of it
stands in the middle of this room. A small brown
box with strange runes carved into it is inside the
glass case.

Rollo:crouches and says is this it
Ulfdin:"He who dares wins, Rodney"
Rollo:all we have striven for
Simon N. (GM):As Ulfdin touches the glass, two shimmering entwined figures appear, dancing...
Rollo:wha
Simon N. (GM):the Silver Princess and the warrior in Silver and Blue.
Ulfdin:Fu.....
Rollo:she is very pretty
Simon N. (GM):They stop, as if becoming aware of intrusion, and turn to Ulfdin.
You can see right through them.

The Princess starts to fade away.
Aliegha breathes heavily, lowering her blade.

Saya:So, it seems after all that your blade cannot cut down an innocent. That is as it should be.
OOC very true!
Simon N. (GM):Aliegha looks puzzled at Saya. "I... get the Ruby and let's be done. This sits ill with me."
Ulfdin:Hmmm
Rollo:Hang on a minute bear lady?
Simon N. (GM):Princess Argenta fades away, back to the nether realms.
"Yes Rollo?"
Rollo:No the moment has passed

Simon N. (GM):Aliegha looks to Saya.
Ulfdin:Ulfdin raisese an eyebrow and looks at Rollo
Saya:That ruby is aptly coloured, we have waded through much blood and sorrow to obtain it.
Rollo:blood red
Simon N. (GM):Aliegha: "Open the case - the box..."
Ulfdin:Ill open it
Simon N. (GM):GM: Ulfdin opens the glass case & takes the box.
Rollo:Rollo watches from over Aliegha's shoulder
Simon N. (GM):Opening the box, inside on a blue velvet pillow is a perfect cut egg-shaped ruby, a full inch across.
Ali: "My Lady's Heart."
Saya:That thing is surely cursed, the reason why malignant frost is engulfing this place. You are welcome to it.
Simon N. (GM):Ali: "Cathrandamus will bring it to the Temple of Nergal in Nith. There will be much rejoicing... those who aided him will be richly rewarded."
Ulfdin:Close the box. Lightly throw it to the bear woman "Catch"
Simon N. (GM):Ali catches the box, and puts it in her backpack. "Thanks."
Ali: "Let us be gone, before the Ubues change their minds..."
GM OOC ok want to stop there for tonight
Ulfdin:Mutters "Should have killed them...."
Simon N. (GM):OK you get 7 CP each
Saya:Woo hoo! Thanks Simon!
Ulfdin:Huzzah
Rollo:thanks for a great game Simon. Huzzah!
Simon N. (GM):You each get +1 HP, and for making the mission much easier Saya gets +1 HP for the peace w the Ubues
Saya:Saya is getting a bit emo but all of this is starting to really go against her code, so.
Cheers!
Simon N. (GM):Thanks guys, fun game, well done :)
Ulfdin:Thanks mate. Thanks all!
Simon N. (GM):I think mixing hacking & diplomacy key to this adventure :D
Saya:Great game Simon, thank you!]
Ulfdin:Great fun. Liked playing a nutter
Rollo:if the gauntlet fits Rich
Ulfdin:Tis true
Simon N. (GM):without Aliegha or the Warrior's sword (which went off with Vethra when we switched to online) pretty impossible as ghosts immune to normal weapons
Ulfdin:And I had such a good Init roll.......
Saya:I was wondering whether Saya's sword is normal or magical?
Simon N. (GM):Currrently you all have non magical weapons AFAIK
Saya:Got it
