Silver Princess #3 afternoon 4/1/2215 - The Sword of Lothras

Aufric uses magic to find a golden elf-key in the baths. Three powerful Ghost Warrior beastmen discover the party as they are resting for two hours. They are defeated in a fierce fight. Duchess uses a poisoned throwing dagger.
The party grow suspicious of Duchess & Candella, who now say they are cousins who fled Secansh 5 years ago to escape arranged marriages. More recently they were thieves in Nith, but had to flee the city to escape the angry Guildmaster of Thieves. They depart - taking with them the money pouches of Aufric & Marris - and Candella may have also stolen Aufric's heart!
9 more beastmen arrive up the stairs from the south caves; Vethra decapitates their leader and impresses the rest (8 in all), who fall down to worship her. Though no one speaks Urgan, some communication is established. Adventurers & beastmen head south to a cave with mother & child statue, the mother resembling Vethra.

This open area is a small worship alcove. On a raised platform along the western wall is a beautifully carved statue of a woman holding a small girl child in her lap. The woman is smiling down at the child, who plays with a small ball clutched in her hands. The inscription on the base of the statue reads “The secret treasure of one’s heart can be found in love.”

Vethra uses a gold octagon to recover a scroll fragment from a hidden compartment in the statue. It reads, in archaic High Atlantean:

I came, and what did my eyes behold? A maiden fair with hair of gold. Her face, aglow by which the sun is shamed. My steed, a dragon, her innocence did tame. Her heart, a gem with many facets.

A horde of rats - giant and normal - lead by a Rat King emerge from the shadows and attack as the beastmen try to withdraw; they are defeated with many slain; the wounded rat king crawls back into his hole.
The beastmen retreat upstairs back to their camp to tend their wounded while the heroes go back to investigate the baths, defeating a horde of 9 skeletal bathers. Hank finds an enchanted chamber:

This hexagonal room, much like the other ones, is decorated with mosaic tiles. The mosaic covers the entire room, the walls, the floor and ceiling. The scenes are of a red dragon mounted by a man in silver and blue armor giving chase to a young maiden wearing a silver gown and a silver and ruby coronet. Another scene depicts elves playing in the woods while a red dragon watches them from his hiding place behind two tall pines. On one wall is a pool of bright blue water with a shimmering diamond floating on a lily paid, and several mermaids swimming and splashing each other near it. The design on the floor shows the maiden, man and dragon curled up asleep around a key hole.

Sammy uses the elf-key to 'unlock' an enchanted sword. The Warrior in Silver & Blue appears and 'slays' Sammy before saluting Vethra and vanishing. Sammy awakes unharmed.
Sammy presents Vethra Saursane the great sword - it shines always with silver-blue light (illuminates 30' radius). It gives +2 to blade skill & to damage (so +2 to hit, to Parry, and M+3D+3 damage). It is inscribed on the crossbar "Lothras" - this must be the legendary blade of Ser Lothras Saursane, the Warrior in Blue & Silver, himself! Vethra gives Hank her own Atlantean Steel +1 greatsword.
